Empire of Vietnam

The Empire of Vietnam was a short-lived sponsored state of Imperial Japan between March 11 and August 30, 1945. It was a member of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere and was ruled by the Nguyễn dynasty. The Empire was proclaimed when Emperor Bảo Đại declared independence for Vietnam from French protection.
