John Collier

John Maler Collier was an English painter and writer. He was one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation, and also created history paintings that were usually imaginary portraits of one or two figures from literature, myth, or history. Both of his marriages were to daughters of Thomas Henry Huxley.
