Joseph ben Ephraim Karo

Joseph ben Ephraim Karo, also spelled Yosef Caro, or Qaro, was a prominent Sephardic Jewish rabbi renowned as the author of the last great codification of Jewish law, the Beit Yosef, and its popular analogue, the Shulhan Arukh.
