Mahapajapati Gotami
Mahāprajāpatī Gautamī or simply Prajāpatī was the foster-mother, step-mother and maternal aunt of the Buddha. Therefore, based on the Therī-apadāna, Gotamī is referred to by the title "Mother of the Buddha".
