Stanisław Wawrzyniec Staszic was a Polish philosopher and writer. A leading figure in the Polish Enlightenment, he was also a Catholic priest, geologist, poet, translator and statesman. A physiocrat, monist, pan-Slavist and laissez-fairist, he supported many reforms in Poland.
