Which Happened First?

Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 September 2026

By creating an account or playing Which Happened First? you agree to these terms.

The game

Which Happened First? is a free history quiz. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Historical dates and descriptions come from public sources (Wikidata, Wikipedia) and may contain errors.

Your account

You need an account to play. Keep your login credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account. One account per person. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account.

Fair play

Do not cheat: no bots, scripts or automated play; no exploiting bugs; no extra accounts to farm rating; no offensive usernames or display names. We may reset scores, remove leaderboard entries or close accounts that break these rules.

Content and attribution

Event data comes from Wikidata (CC0). Event descriptions and links come from Wikipedia and are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. Images come from Wikimedia Commons under the licence shown next to each image. Your username, display name and scores may be displayed on public leaderboards.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page; this permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the game. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the game — which is nothing, as it is free.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be announced in the game.
